In our today’s Persefume ‘s “He says, she says” by Jakub and Aleksandra we cover three scents by Frassaï – fragrance and jewelry house born in Buenos Aires and New York and founded by multi-skilled designer Natalia Outeda.

Natalia Outeda

FRASSAÏ is a modern fragrance and jewelry house born in Buenos Aires and New York. With a sensorial approach to design, each piece is conceived to evoke the senses. Natalia Outeda, founder of FRASSAÏ, was born in Buenos Aires, Argentina. At an early age she relocated to New York, where she worked alongside a renowned floral designer and later followed a career in the fine fragrance industry, developing fragrances for major international brands. Upon returning to her hometown in 2012, she began a new path as a jewelry designer, constantly fueled by a passion for travel and the arts.

After range of jewels and candles, in November 2017 truly stunning trio of Frassaï Eaux de Parfum was born – to fulfil her vision Natalia Outeda collaborated with three talented Givaudan Master Perfumers: Olivier Gillotin, Yann Vasnier and Rodrigo Flores-Roux.

“My goal with this launch was to meet the distinct desire for innovation and high quality perfume in Argentina. To craft fragrances in a way that prioritizes the craftsmanship and beauty of ingredients. I wasn’t satisfied with simply launching a line of fragrances. It was important to offer a product consistent with the aesthetic beauty our jewelry line is known for. With Eau de Parfum collection, our customers embark upon a new sensorial experience.” Natalia Outeda.

Let’s talk more about them!

Once upon a time, in a faraway land, a fair and gentle princess grows up beloved by her father, surrounded by precious jewels, exotic fruits and mouthwatering dainties. When left behind in an enchanted forest by a deceitful coachman, BLONDINE is captivated by the most beautiful flowers she has ever seen. Rejoicing in their profusion and delighting in their perfume, she commences to fill her hat and pockets with them, until she finds herself farther and farther away from home. A fragrant tale of alluring florals, decadent sweets, and enigmatic musks, where courage and hope are the key to living happily ever after; here Blondine’s story begins.

Notes: Green mandarin, Pear Leaves, Salted Butter Caramel, Tiger Lily, Ashok flower, Cocoa, Tonka beans, Castoreum, Blond Musks
Nose: Yann Vasnier

He – “green, elegant, longlasting, musky” – those were accurate keywords I’ve noted before writing my slightly longer impressions. Argentinian air filled with smell of trees and flowers, some gourmand undertones – perhaps that is a smell of baking coming from nearby house? Musk in the base makes this vision last even longer. Gorgeous and so well executed – bravo!

She – flowers of spring bloom in this perfume, unexpectedly lavish and oriental. There’s definitely a pear present here, but above all – the most unusual collaboration between white flowers and cocoa, only possible in dreams, or a myth, as they would never grow together in reality. Wonderful and multi-faceted perfume, with ever-changing face.

In a garden hidden by clouds, on the mythical Mount Kunlun, Xiwangmu’s peach tree is a cosmic ladder that connects heaven and earth. Once every 3000 years the peaches ripen, and a lavish banquet is held. Offered to deities and royalty alike, it is said that the mere scent of this divine fruit grants immortality. With simple elegance and subdued beauty, TIAN DI invites this mystical communion with a ritual in fragrance. Earthy incense, rich green flowers, peach elixir and calming woods culminate to open the mind, purify the body and awaken the spirit.

Notes: Ginger, Galbanum, Star Anise, Olibanum, Peach Elixir, Red Chrysanthemum, Orris , Sandalwood, Chinese Incense, Tonkin Musk
Nose: Olivier Gillotin

He – Stunning modern Oriental! It evolves from creamy, peachy and spicy (ginger is truly detectable) aroma to bold and heavy combination of buttery iris and woods. Lovely, long-lasting scent with the statement.

She – Wonderfun (:D), earthy iris in the opening – carrot and hibiscus seeds anyone? Fresh ginger and galbanum add a vibrant green feel to it, beautifully prolonged by citrusy aspects of olibanum. The peach is so abstract here at first that I find it almost unrecognizable, as if she were wearing a mask – but then in incorporates, gains weight and buttery, celestial texture. Festive and meditative at once, this perfume is my favourite of the three.

In summer, jasmine infuses the streets of Buenos Aires with its sweet and intoxicating smell. Like the seductive rhythms of tango, it stirs the imagination evoking the boundless countryside where the sky drifts serenely over an undulating green campo. Trees sway in the distance as birds chorus from the shade of sun soaked leaves. Two lovers stroll side by side on a blossom-strewn path, a gentle breeze brushes against them while horses raise their sleek heads to watch. VERANO PORTEÑO is a fragrant ode to love.

Notes: Calabrian Bergamot, Cardamom, Clementine essence, Sicilian Cedrat, Southern Magnolia, Imperial Jasmine, Alhelí, Vetyver, Ambrette Seed, Argentine Maté
Nose: Rodrigo Flores-Roux

He – So green! It combines classic green, crispy citrus and woody elements with dash of subtle flowers and aromatic spices. Result is nostalgic, yet somehow full of energy and joy of life – I imagine it really evokes its brief story.

She – a refreshing one, with a vintage vibe to it, yet absolutely bold and modern. As a traditional frock tailored with best, hi-tech materials. The acetate facet of jasmine is enhanced here, but in a subtle, invigorating and bright style. Adding vetiver and citruses makes it even longer on green axis.

Congratulations to FRASSAÏ – it is really impressive line! All Eaux de Parfum can be purchased here as 50ml spray (130 USD each), 10ml Touch Point sets (35-80 USD) and Sample Set (18 USD). Brand is planning worldwide expansion – and it is truly good news!
