The second edition of Persefume Awards is here (check our last year’s post)). This time we have deliberately decided to wait with our recap until Valentine’s Day – what is the better time to show our love and passion for the world of unique and artistic perfumery?

In our summary we are going to completely skip reviews as many of winning scentso have already appeared on Persefume, while the others are still waiting to join our hit “He says, she says” series. Instead, like last year we will present you Persefume‘s list of 33 not to miss fragrances of 2017 – creations which touched and impressed us, those perfumes which should be tested, cherished, discovered and loved.

Best newcomers?
There are few new brands which left us truly impressed – we will cover them all until Esxence, so treat following listing as the special teaser of what’s to come!

NEBBIA – exquisite, highly conceptual project by Filippo Sorcinelli

GIOVANNA ANTONELLI PARFUMS – proof that celebrity scents can take unique, artistic direction

JANUARY SCENT PROJECT by talented perfumer John Biebel;

LUIGI BORRELLI NAPOLI – with amazing trilogy and Cashmere as the worthy substitute of long-lost Norma Kamali Incense;

FRASSAÏ – Natalia Outeda’s trio composed with Yann Vasnier, Olivier Gillotin and Rodrigo Flores-Roux

MAISON THIBAUD-BOURAHLA

Plus:
Marlou Paris with their animalic and highly sensual duo;
L’Orchestre – the new Pierre Guguen‘s collection inspired by music and composed by Flair Paris;
Soul Couture – the upcoming line composed by Michele Marin;
– new eponymous line by Simone Scaglietti
Comporta – Pedro Dias’ niche, yet affordable line straight from Portugal;
and finally Ricardo Ramos Perfumes de Autor , unique take on Granada’s heritage, collaboration between Ricardo Ramos and perfumer Jorge Lee.

Best perfumers? As always, congratulations to Bertrand Duchaufour, Rodrigo Flores-Roux, Luca Maffei (Atelier Fragranze Milano); Amelie Bourgeois and Anne-Sophie Behaghel of Flair Paris, Cecile Zarokian – this was another great year for those talented noses! Our new love? Recent work of Quentin Bisch.

Best 2017 selective fragrances? We should note polarizing Mugler Aura, yet our heart was taken by Gucci Guilty Absolute duo!

Best body product? We are addicted to Andy Tauer‘s new soaps! Organic, highly perfumed and affordable.

Final note to ourselves? To write more frequently and also check houses which we have not explored so far: Parfumerie Particuliere, Fort and Manle, Abel Odor, Les Indémodables, Parfumeurs du Monde, Alex Simone and probably some others that we will find soon – perfumista’s life is far from being boring!

Fort and Manle
